On this day admission to the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens is free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this time, hundreds of visitors will pass through our gates and walk the paths that meander through the landscape. We will have around 30 booths or stations set up along this path with information and educational displays on many topics including honeybees, bats, pollination, native plants, composting and container gardening.
Also happening are lots of scheduled events and activities like a tree ID walk, seed starting for kids, library sponsored book readings, and a behind the scenes greenhouse tour. Master gardeners will be on hand to give out advice and free seeds, as well as being stationed at the various garden areas throughout the park to offer information about roses, camellias, azaleas, daylilies, herbs, etc. In addition, food and refreshment will be available from a number of local food truck vendors. Its a sun-filled day of learning and fun for all who come.
